April, 2014 Work Weekend

What a wonderful weekend! It reached the mid 80s by mid afternoon -- and was a great day to be working outdoors.

With the snow finally gone we were able to move our hardware out of Museum B and replace it with a "proper" steam-pulled passenger train. Other pieces of rolling stock were moved around between Museum B, the shop, and the South Station.

We started the cleanup and rearrangement of the locomotive fueling station.

Plus, some indoor work was completed.

Scenes from the fuel station project. Depending on the picture, John K., Brian B., John G., Dave O., Dan H., and Braden G., can be seen.

The train movement crew was headed by Elliot H., who had Matt W., and Elsie B. assisting.

Look closely at this consist; you will see No. 6, the D-9, No. 16, No. 1, a few freight cars and a few passenger cars.

With the North Pole Express passenger cars on the west spur, a few MCRR members were able to remove the translucent plastic coating from the windows. Various scenes show Braden G., Jerry C., Ray G., Donna C., Wayne P., and a few others tugging at the window coating.

A few shots of No. 2's tender. The fuel tank is suspended above its final resting spot.
